Very Long Day...

The day started at 6:30am when the alarm clock went off; trixstir  and I needed to get an early start so that we would be in Swift-Current in time for her appointment.  The appointment went well, and the baby is doing fine.  With any luck, the estimates will be correct and by this time next week there will be a new arrival.  We shall see...

Of course, babies, as they are wont to, will show up whenever they darned well feel like it. Pretty much until it shows, you should always ask yourself 'Ok, what do I do if the baby comes in the next five minutes?', because eventually, there's gonna be a five minutes when the kid *does* decide to make an appearance.

Still, yay! Babby tiem!

I'll second this, last month my new niece showed up three weeks early. It's on the baby's schedule.

And yes, Yay! Babby tiem!

That's the reason that we have things all prepared and ready to go. Trixstir has had her "hospital bag" packed and in the van since we went to Calgary (just in case the kid came while we were there!) and I'm packing a bag as well.

Apparently, I get the priveledge of being able to stay with her at all times, if so desired. No need to rent a motel room or anything, they'll bring in a cot or recliner for me. :) The only others who get extended visiting priveledges (though not as extensive as mine) are the Grandparents. Everyone else is restricted to the 2pm-8pm visiting hours. We're allowed to use cell-phones in the Maternity ward, but there's no Internet Access (and I don't have a data-cable for the cell-phone nor a wireless data plan.)

We're keeping both cell-phones fully charged at all times, the gas-tank full, and I've got freshly charged batteries in the cameras. :) Tomorrow (later today) I have to assemble the baby furniture (crib, change-table, etc.) and just hope I get all that done before the new arrival arrives. :)
