My computer class is trying to melt my brain. There are two main parts to the course: learning the boring-ass basics of computers--the parts of a computer, the details of those parts, peripheral devices, internet connections, etc. YAWN. Then there's the practical side, where you do exercises to learn how to use Microsoft Office. I dislike this part ( Read more... )

Just got a call from the clinic with my MRI results. There are TWO FRACTURES in my left foot/ankle - a fracture of the bone that creates the ankle bump on the outside of your foot and the bone that makes up your heel, plus bone marrow bruising of another ankle bone. We're getting tons of rain right now. I LOVE it. However, my body doesn't feel the same way about the rain. Every joint is achy and I'm so completely fatigued it's ridiculous. I'm already maxed out on how much advil I can take in a day - Rx strength at 800mg every 8 hours - and I'm pretty sure my kidneys are mad about that. I really should switch ( Read more... )

Holy crap. I drove 115 miles (ish) today. Seriously. I live up in NW Harris County (a far northwest suburb of Houston). I drove from there to close to downtown, which is 30 miles, to see Monica. It's been raining and storming on and off since Thursday. Today it's not supposed to rain too much, but the weekend meteorologist on my favorite station isn't very accurate for the most part.  Watch this! It's FABULOUS. (Thanks to narniadear  for posting this on FB!) I totally needed this laugh/giggle/snort/honk-like-a-seal thing, as I was just talking to Monica earlier about ways to de-stress that didn't necessarily involve me walking outside in the heat. I may have to find a way to put this on my phone to take with me for whenever it's needed.
