We got up this morning to 67 degrees! It was wonderful, invigorating and refreshing! We immediately opened up the doors/windows and the gentle breeze helped fill the house with fresh air! When we got up this morning I saw that every little buoyant float had left the bottom of the Galileo Thermometer in the bathroom! The last one up is for 62 degrees! I guess the news around here at the moment is the big storm we had last night. We didn’t have any real damage, just a lot of debris blew out of the trees and one of the metal benches at the fire pit blew over. A cold and windy, but sun shiny day. Tonight it is supposed to be our coldest night so far this winter-in the 30s. I took all my orchids down several days ago and put them in the shed and I decided I’d check on them this morning. After two beautiful warm days, we are getting another cold snap. Temps have dropped 15 degrees so far since I got up this morning and not much sun today, but I’m not complaining. I haven’t felt tip-top the last few days. I think the heat is starting to get to me - sap my energy and wear me down. I feel drained, when I haven't really done much of anything. Pete and I just finished taking down all the hanging plants and other things in the trees and securing some things on the ground that could blow away or become projectiles. I see Isaac is moving further west out into the Gulf and so we will get even less than we first expected. They did close the schools for tomorrow and cancel garbage pickup. I ( Read more... )
