A few days ago a Red-Shouldered Hawk was in the neighbor’s yard perched on top of one of the birdhouses.

It is so muggy here, not much air movement at all and was sort of hard for me to breathe this morning outside. There is a big rain predicted to come on Thursday and Friday--80%-90%, so it is likely we will get some with those percentages. We need the air washed clean here desperately ( Read more... )

After two beautiful warm days, we are getting another cold snap. Temps have dropped 15 degrees so far since I got up this morning and not much sun today, but I’m not complaining. I’m sure I’ll be switching from shorts back into long pants before the day is over and the blankets will feel good tonight ( Read more... )

Brrr.... It's been cooler and windy the last few days. I saw a mockingbird sitting on a sea grape tree but he wouldn't turn my way. I had my camera ready, he turned, and suddenly a little gust of wind caught his feathers and fanned them up just as I was snapping his picture.
