Pete and I just finished taking down all the hanging plants and other things in the trees and securing some things on the ground that could blow away or become projectiles. I see Isaac is moving further west out into the Gulf and so we will get even less than we first expected. They did close the schools for tomorrow and cancel garbage pickup. I ( Read more... )

I’m almost done foiling the first window and I’ll probably start soldering Monday or Tuesday. We are preparing for Isaac around here. We’re pretty sure we will get lots of rain (they are predicting anywhere from 10-20 inches) and some pretty heavy winds, but it is hard to say exactly until it gets a bit closer. Mom is still doing quite well and we think she will be released from the hospital tomorrow, Monday. This has been an extremely busy, worrisome and stressful week with all that has been going on with mom and other happenings around here. My mom fell onto the floor and broke her hip and collarbone Monday night. Those of you who have been my LJ friends for awhile now know mom is 100 years old, in the final stages of dementia, and only sitting up in a wheelchair, on a potty or in bed ( Read more... )
