I went to a gallery meeting last night on the island. It was a late meeting and the sun wasn’t too far from setting when I left for home. I thought I’d check on my recent find of the osprey nest at the Palma Sola Boat Basin and see the sunset from there.
No ospreys in sight, but there was a beautiful sunset about to happen. There were several people gathering on the bridge as I watched and took pictures.
Then I walked to a different spot and saw everyone had left except one couple . . . and an egret that had probably been there all along came into view in the shadows as a silhouette against the water.
(sorry for so many similar, but it was hard to choose just one -- :)))

Then I came home to good news from my sister on her LJ about mom. In part, here is what she wrote “. . . things are going quite well for mom. The partial hip replacement went very well and she's eating a little and drinking again. Everyone is amazed that a hundred year old woman is doing so well. She had a cute young man for her nurse today and I know she enjoyed that - was smiling while looking quizzically at him.”
A very good day and I am thankful!
