I got offered a possition for full-time at Rahr for 3k more than I'm making at TI so I took it.

I got the position at Rahr for Brewer's assistant.  I'll be working on my off days IE Monday and Tuesdays as well as Wednesdays sometimes.  I am starting at $9 an hours plus I get free ingrediants.

Yesterday, on a whim, I contacted the Rahr Brewery in Fort Worth to see if there were any possitions avalible at the brewery.  I promptly recieved an email back saying that they are seeking a brewers assistant.  I gave the guy a call today and we talked a bit and I have an apointment with him Tuesday!  It boils down to whether or not the brewer can ( Read more... )

I move into my house that I'm renting on the 26th.  Its in Garland.  I'll be living with Richard and eventualy Chelsea as well.

For those of you who knew him, Kaji my cat is going to be put to sleep today.  He has feline lukimia and FIP. 

So I am 27 now.  One year closer to not being young anymore.  Can't say thats a bad thing though.  At least when your older, your wiser and have more money.

Also in September, Texas Instruments said it plans to lay off 191 Dallas workers whose manufacturing jobs are being eliminated and who couldn't find other positions at the company.

I took a specific gravity reading tonight to check on how the fermentation is coming along.  My OG was 1.073 and the reading I took tonight is at 1.022.  That calculates out to a current ABV of %6.681.  Fermentation still has a ways to go and the brew taste a bit sweet still, indicating that there are still sugars yet to ferment.  I'm not sure what ( Read more... )

Today was a very productive day as far as brewing was concerned. I took a trip to Homebrew HQ in the crazy rain to pick up a diffuser stone/ filter set up, and a thermostat for the fridge to control my brewing temperatures precisely.  I also stopped by Home Depot to get an oxygen tank to use in conjunction with the airation stone.  My beer ( Read more... )
