[Action 1]

[It's a beautiful Saturday morning, isn't it? And, being a Saturday, it is perhaps surprising to find an elementary school student on school grounds, having apparently acquired a pail of paint and brush. The boy has taken it upon himself, as his duty in fact, to add some color to the school on this day off ( Read more... )

[Somebody overheard the conversation as she was walking to work...]

If you were trying to convince them to hurt somebody, it's not going to work. Trust me on this.

[He looks up at Poison Ivy, impassively.]

Not even that. I would have settle for a reaction, any reaction, would have sufficed.

I couldn't get even that.

I've been here for half a year, and I've yet to see them displaying any kind of human emotion. I'm pretty sure they are just shells.

I'm not surprised. Unfortunate, but it isn't surprising.

Yet. In all things? There is still a little spark of ingenuity, of creativity. Power.

Your friends seem nice.

[Nyarlathotep, who has been eavesdropping on this conversation for a while, approaches Lucifer. The boy would notice that he is now sporting his black, pinstripe suit and long, red scarf back from his world. To fulfill Jun's wish for a "cool dad", a change of appearance was in order. The man now exudes a type of confidence that seems unwavering to any force in the world.

He places his hands in his pockets as he looks down at Lucifer, smiling.]

[Lucifer just looks in Nyarlathotep's direction for a moment, quietly. He has no clue if the suit had been regained previously and Nyarlathotep had simply chosen not to wear it, or if it had been what was most recently regained. Lucifer assumes the latter; it would make sense considering how trivial his own regain had been.]

They're nicer than anyone should really be.

They're a single-minded lot. No matter what you say, you won't be able to change their dim-witted amiability.

[Although, Nyarlathotep doesn't quite mind this. As boring as Lucifer would find it, Nyarlathotep in contrast expressed to the boy nothing but amusement. In fact, having drones around is advantageous to him. Drones make up at least half or more of the citizens in Mayfield. Their single-minded wish to continue their repetitive lives gives him a powerful weapon. It's still being crafted at the moment, but soon...]

Perhaps they are.

And yet, there is a fault in every single minded being. A being that embodies only a one might, someday, come to embody a two.

[But even know Lucifer is seeing that attempt to breed anything that isn't in the drones programming might be futile. They're beyond will-less, mindless even, to him. Even the Manikins in the Vortex World had some survival instinct, some desire to live.

This was simply pathetic.]

[He had just been passing by, but the figure painting the fence was unmistakable...

Cain had never lost his temper with anyone like that before, let alone been so rude or needlessly vicious. Somewhere, deep inside, he felt a sense of that rage and blame still simmering under the surface.

But he couldn't allow it to sully his name here, he couldn't allow himself grudges or arguments, and so there was a small rueful smile on his lips as he stepped a bit closer.]

Louis..?

[Lucifer turns to the voice, tilting his head. It would be a lie to say he wasn't annoyed with Cain's accusations, let alone what Lucifer perceived to be ignorance on his part, but he wouldn't let that show at the moment.]

Yes, Cain?

[They can be secretly annoyed with each other, such a winning combination...]

I wanted to apologise for what I said before.

[Lucifer just remains silent for a moment, a smile playing across his lips.]

Do you really?

[lalala, this guy is heading down the street on the way to the church; he thought he might pop his head in and check on Sister Ciel after last week, and...

...aha. he recognizes that voice, his footsteps stalling a bit from his vantage point across the street -- eyes curious where they fall on Lucifer during this exchange. when the boys walk away, Abel lingers, looking slightly perplexed as he nudges his glasses a bit higher on his nose. hm... that was-- well, strange, to say the least...

oops is he staring dumbly he does this sometimes]

[Lucifer watches the drone boys walk off for a moment before turning around and spotting Abel. He doesn't stop, or pause, but simply nods to the man, wondering how much he heard and saw.]

Hello. It would appear we meet again.

[--oh, spotted! he gives a sheepish little smile and waves a bit... before starting to meander in his direction. (look, he even checked traffic before crossing he is the smartest).]

Under better circumstances this time, too! It looks like we're in luck...!

[A smile spreads across Lucifer's lips.]

Indeed, sir. It's good to see you're in better health, as well.

[A bit later, BM comes walking from the direction the two boys left.

He seems to have gotten a little something on his clothes.

Okay, no, he's covered in it and snickering.]

[Lucifer raises an eyebrow at the man. It's you again. You do seem to love bloodshed, don't you?]

Having fun?

Yep.

Though it'd be nice if someone responded to my sacrifices.

One cannot simply make a sacrifice and have no destination for it and expect a response.
