[It's a beautiful Saturday morning, isn't it? And, being a Saturday, it is perhaps surprising to find an elementary school student on school grounds, having apparently acquired a pail of paint and brush. The boy has taken it upon himself, as his duty in fact, to add some color to the school on this day off ( Read more... )

[Somebody overheard the conversation as she was walking to work...]

If you were trying to convince them to hurt somebody, it's not going to work. Trust me on this.

[He looks up at Poison Ivy, impassively.]

Not even that. I would have settle for a reaction, any reaction, would have sufficed.

I couldn't get even that.

I've been here for half a year, and I've yet to see them displaying any kind of human emotion. I'm pretty sure they are just shells.

I'm not surprised. Unfortunate, but it isn't surprising.

Yet. In all things? There is still a little spark of ingenuity, of creativity. Power.

But they are like... like corpses. The only spark of life they have is artificial.

You cannot force a machine to have feelings- at least, where I come from we hadn't gotten to that point yet.

It is rare, when even in machines, that that spark might be totally gone. Totally artificial.

[But these things are too much like what YHWH would want, far too much so, and that does bother Lucifer.]

Perhaps not a machine, but they are still human. Or were.

[He's unsure which it is yet.]

Judging by a friend of mine able to see souls, they 'were' more than are. And with no soul, I'm pretty sure there will be no reaction no matter how hard you try.

Oh? You know someone who can see souls?

[Lucifer doesn't comment on the last part, but he doesn't feel he needs to. That's very true. Without a soul, a genuine reaction couldn't be obtained. And what's more that's...very disturbing. Even YHWH rarely went to the lengths of destroying souls entirely, in part because it was so difficult.

But here, with their captors....]

Well, more like take them away. I'm not sure how it works, really.

[And an atheist she has a huge problem believing souls exist, to begin with.]

That's interesting.

[And outlandishly powerful.]

They must be a scary person, certainly.

At first, sure. But he seems to be really nice and helpful.

Oh? How would I recognize him?

That depends. Do you know many living skeletons?

[More than you can imagine, Pamela.]

I can't say I have miss.

Does the skeleton have a name?

poisonivyforyou December 11 2011, 13:03:38 UTC
Death- oh, I think he had a more human name. ...Bill? Yeah I think that was it. Bill.

I see.

[Not his Death, then. Still, he supposes he shouldn't be surprised to find another one from somewhere else.]

Does that frighten you?
