The Job Hunt
So Monday's interview went well. It was about twenty minutes and the man said he'd like to schedule the second interview for 11-7 on Thursday. I'd have lunch with a rep and shadow her, see what a typical day is like, and have the interview/questions/etc as the day went on. Okie. I have not forgotten you.
The thing is, I took the journal public for the challenge, and I'm on hiatus from the challenge, so.... must discuss keeping it public with Michael but solely focussed on writing. Do some book reviews, etc. Yanno?
We'll see.
That said, I have gotten Act II outlined. Not sure when I'll write it, I want to do it like I did Act I to keep the momentum up ( Read more... ) -
Long Weekend
Ugh. My univ's writing center hosted a conference this weekend so I spent Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon running errands, registering people, showing people around campus, rewriting all my presentation notes, giving the panel... yah. Busy. And then went to the in-laws to sort out tax info with M; we're gonna owe a bunch of money. Ugh. ( Read more... ) -
Challenge: Bad News
Okay I'm resigning from the second week of the challenge. Too much going on between job hunting, current jobs, schoolwork, my mother and uncle BOTH had surgery yesterday and people somehow didn't call me that my mother's was delayed so I was biting my nails for nine hours till she was done and they told me. So it's five o'clock and I have done NOTHING today but look up jobs and work on my resume and do cover letters for two different applications. I applied for one job that I think is a long shot, just because I wanted to feel like I've done something. Challenge: Day 8
I got to the middle of page 71 yesterday. This morning I got to the bottom of page 74. I had a lot to do, meetings and stuff. I'm running a panel at a conference this weekend so we're finalizing that stuff; I've got the history paper going, last week's review essay to rewrite, and the senior project. Challenge: Day 7
Today is the halfway point! Yay!
I wrote 7 pages this morning; I'm at 70. I need five more today to be on target and I think I can do it. :) Act II is going to be fun. I had some great ideas while reviewing my verbal collage. Still lots of unknowns but it's going well. The characters are doing a few unexpected things, which is a good sign. I do ( Read more... ) -
Challenge: Break 1
I didn't update last night; I didn't make ten pages. I got to page 63 and wrote the turning point for Lucy and Noel's relationship and the turning point for Laila's story and the external goal (same scene.) Interestingly, that scene was from Laila's perspective. She was in the best position for it, so I figured why not?

Today is The Day of the Living History Paper. Snazzy, no? Yes, the challenge is finally being purposely shunted in favor of my GPA. But it's Saturday and I literally have nowhere to go and nothing to do EXCEPT sit on my computer and type things, so I will get the challenge done, just not till I write at least two pages of Bacon and Berkeley.
