I just got a call from my mom, telling me to check my voicemail. Apparently a representative from Jeopardy! had tried calling my cell phone and, upon not reaching me, had called my listed home phone number (my mom's house). Possible excitement! I feel like I haven't done nearly enough reading in the past year. Such is the evil influence of Hulu and Netflix streaming. I do already have a number of books on my "To Read" shelf, plus several others that I've been meaning to reread when I get around to it, but maybe getting some fresh material will help inspire me to get back into reading. Driving home tonight, I passed a green cab parked at the corner of City Hall Park, presumably waiting for a passenger (although I doubt there are many passengers to be had at 1 a.m. on a Monday in Burlington). Instead, I spent it being appalled at how outdated and generally useless the Vermont Elections Division website is. culinary adventures
Yesterday, I tried out the dough hook attachment on my trusty Kitchenaid mixer, and discovered that it's incredibly easy to bake my own bread. It would probably be fairly easy even without the mixer, and I do kind of enjoy kneading by hand, but the mixer definitely speeds things up and eliminates the necessity of getting dough stuck all over your ( Read more... ) -
