This one is about 15 years old and was originally done for a foot stool.  It's been in the attic for about 10 years so I'm going to turn it into a throw pillow for the family room.

When I woke up this morning about 7:00 there was a lull in the snow and it looked like it was done.  Streets covered but grass still showing.  Then it started up again and is coming down fast and furiously now.  I wonder how much we're actually in for.

Steve just got back from seeing the doctor and all his biopsy results are negative.  Yay!  No cancer, no surgery!

We were in a similar situation this time last year thinking he might have to have another heart surgery.  I don't think I can take too many more winters fraught with so much drama.  But thank goodness it all worked out well.

Whew!

Yesterday I went scouting for fabric to recover an old sofa that was Steve's aunt's.  It's quite formal so I want something a bit funky to lighten it up.  I found a fabric that sort of looks like tree bark in shades of brown and have decided this is the one.  Today I'll go buy it and hope to spend the weekend snowed in and getting it done ( Read more... )

Today is our 33rd anniversary.  Wow!  When I got married I didn't really contemplate that sort of thing.  The years just glide by and suddenly I've been married for a third of a century.  The last time one of these got to me was when we hit the 28th and had been married half of our lives.  Time is such a weird thing.
