I like that we get to spend more time with Kira’s Cardassian dad in “Ties of Blood and Water”. The joy on her face when he arrives on the station is just a wonder to behold. ( Oh, Vorta are immune to most forms of poison; it comes in handy when you are a diplomat. )

I was really looking forward to “The Ascent”. I think it’s my favorite of all of the Quark and Odo interactions. Getting them off the station and onto that mountaintop was a really good idea. ( 'Have I ever told you how much I hate that smug, superior attitude of yours?'
'Have I ever told you how much I hate your endless lying, your pathetic greed, your idiotic little schemes?' )

I had been looking forward to “Nor the Battle to the Strong”. I’m really glad that we get to see what Jake’s like under the pressure of a warzone. ( It takes courage to look inside yourself, and more courage to write it for other people to see. )

I groaned when I saw that “The Muse” was up next. But then Mr. b, the writer, told me to shut up and that it’s one of his favorites. So I watched it with a new perspective this time and I can both see why I was underwhelmed initially and why a professional creative would really like it. ( The dialogue is sharp, the story's involving, the characters are real... the spelling is terrible! )

I’m glad to get to see Worf’s brother Kurn again in “Sons of Mogh”. It’s nice to tie up a loose thread that TNG left hanging. ( Please report to airlock five, Commander. There's an intoxicated Klingon here who's demanding to see you. )

I’m not entirely sure I can talk about “Homefront” and “Paradise Lost” as two separate episodes. It’s a pretty seamless transition from one half of the story to the other. I like the exploration of paranoia and trust in both of them and that Sisko and his father have somewhat opposing viewpoints throughout.

“The Visitor” is Deep Space Nine’s “The Inner Light”. I don’t think it’s quite as perfect as the TNG tearjerker, but that’s like saying a waterfall isn’t quite as perfect as a redwood forest. They’re both glorious. ( For you, and for the boy that I was. He needs you more than you know. Don't you see? We're going to get a second... chance. )

“The Way of the Warrior” is a full on DS9 movie. It really could have stood up to the scrutiny of a theatrical release. Obviously my favorite thing is the arrival of Worf. It’s no secret I love Worf.
