So, I'm stitching along, in my studio (as I do) and I see some motion, out of the corner of my eye. I stop stitching and look. It's a little roly-poly mouse. I think to myself, "Self, why it's a little fieldmouse. How cute!"

It's coming along! I've been adding the vines and I'm having a ball. Though, I've figured out why my wrist has been hurting so much, it's the force of pushing/pulling the needle through so many layers of stitching. This effect is absolutely worth it ( Read more... ) -

Day three of the Angkor Wat brooch
The gold and orange filling is coming along nicely, it's still slow, but I'm not surprised by this.
The new lines on the design are marking lines for stitch directions and color shifts (green is satin stitch direction, blue is color divisions) Hopefully, I'll have the fill finished today.

Well, that didn't exactly work as planned...
Well, I'm starting this piece over again, the couching, at least as wrought, wasn't working for what I wanted to see. So I'm starting over again, and complicating the couching pattern.
