Just heard that Joss Whedon is on board to write and direct Avengers 2, as part of a deal with Disney/Marvel that includes development of a Marvel-based television series for ABC. OMG, OMG, OMG, I just read an announcement at www.comicbookmovie.com that Hot Toys is going to announce a 1/6th-scale figure of our very own S.H.I.E.L.D. I found out this morning, quite by accident, that The Avengers is still playing at the AMC Painters Crossing 9, which I pass on my way home from work... it's only there through this Thursday, apparently (or at least I have no information on showtimes past that), but perhaps I'll stop for the 6:30 show this evening and see it for the fifteenth time ( Read more... )

I’ve had earworms before - you know, that song you can’t get out of your head, that keeps looping and re-looping and if there is a merciful god, it’s a song where you know ALL the lyrics and not just two lines out of the chorus? But this may be the first time I’ve ever had an entire movie as an earworm.

We went to see Prometheus in the theater on Sunday. The film has some very pretty cinematography - especially those long panoramic shots of stark Icelandic scenery - and the digital effects are nice. Last night Deb and I went to see The Avengers again. I've seen it eight times now - I'm getting to the point where I can recite lines of script under my breath with the actors on screen.

Scary.

And the Cinema Center is going to have it in-house for an additional week, so a few more shows aren't entirely out of the question.

Yesterday makes my seventh time at the theater for The Avengers. Cap'n Bhil and I finally got the Brooks' out to see it, and I was pleased to see even the boys enjoyed it enough to lose their 16-year-old studied reserve regarding anything gr'ups like.
