Faithful Doubter - Book review

Why the heck is it virtually impossible to find any non fiction books about autistic adults?

Everything is about autistic children! What kind of little fantasy world are these doctors living in, where they seem to think that once you're 12 you stop needing support?

It feels like they're all saying "Oh well; sucks to be you."

I'd never heard of her until the latest Celebrity Apprentice, currently on tv. I saw Mr. and Mrs. Peete on NBC's "Today" show just recently...did anyone else? (Info and video on TODAY site.) Their son RJ is autistic. Rodney has a book out titled Not My Boy, while Holly and RJ's twin sister Ryan teamed up for a kids' version called My Brother ( Read more... )

I was wondering if anyone has read The Fifth Child by Doris Lessing? I haven’t (and honestly I don’t have time), however I have some questions, that I hope isn't too stupid, about the novel: Is the child (child number five) autistic?
