It may seem not such a big deal to some, but Tacet's rabbit Alexia died suddenly last night.

While the death was not really surprising -- she'd lived in a cloud of cigarette smoke for almost all of her 8 years of life -- it's incredibly sad.  For her, and for me.  This humble little animal helped tacettaur  survive the ravages of malignant cancer and helped ( Read more... )

It was awe-inspiring to behold.

The plot's foundation was the usual coming-of-age / misfit trope, but it held quite a few surprising twists and turns.  Its dramatic impact held some huge punches, and pulled very few.

So with the budget situation in the lab not being as bad as I feared (though we still are forbidden to order anything, we also still seem to be keeping ourselves in basic supplies) I've turned my attention to things I am looking forward to -- and few things more then the upcoming movie How to Train Your Dragon.

In essence, this movie to me was like a Thanksgiving dinner at a five-star restaurant. I knew exactly what dishes were going to be served, and in what order, well in advance -- but there will be a few surprises, and the feast will still be magnificent.

Things are finally starting to go better over here.  Hopefully things will continue to improve, I will get my final couple of tests and get discharged from here.
