1. I agree with David Shore that in such a long-running show, it made sense for them to give it a try. They're two attractive, high-achieving, single (OK, not quite in Cuddy's case in S6, but I could never take Lucas seriously) people working in close proximity - why wouldn't they have been attracted? The "House/Cuddy season" is also a great Wilson season. The finale leaves a bad taste and I'd almost recommend skipping it, but overall the House/Cuddy arc and its aftermath are well worth watching, even for House/Wilson fans. I'm finding that the euphoria of getting such a beautiful ending to a show I'm really invested in goes on and on. I honestly feel like my life has improved in a permanent step change! (Laugh at me if you want.)

Someone at the house_wilson community kindly helped me think more positively of the way House ( spoiler )

Given David Shore's comment that they "didn't do happy endings", I was expecting something much more devastating than we got. I learned this morning that a Sam and Dean moment from the promo was cut from the aired episode, and have now gone from thinking the finale was a bit emotionally flat to being actively disappointed. Even those three seconds would have made things a lot better for me ( Read more... )
