* Chris and Bea spent a week in Florida at the beginning of the month, giving me some much needed alone time in the apartment.  I did pretty much Diddley and Squat while they were gone.  :)

* two more books finished this month... "Jarhead" by Anthony Swofford and "Grendel" by John Gardner.

"Jarhead" was pretty good... one Marine's point of view of Desert Storm.  I saw the movie first and was intrigued, so I borrowed the book from the library.  The movie was good, but obviously a very Hollywood-ized version of the book.

* Bossa Nova (7181 W Sunset Blvd, LA) -- frickin' AWESOME black beans, rice, & plantains... i could eat that stuff nearly every day.  mm mm good.  and i had plenty o' leftovers for lunch the next day.

La Poubelle ( 5907 Franklin Ave, LA) -- means "trash" in french, but it's far from garbage... AWESOME french food!  The coq au vin was amazing.
