My year is off to a good starting reading-wise... so far this month, I've finished:

Brother Odd by Dean Koontz -- quite a good read, it's the first book I've read by Koontz.  makes me want to pick up a few more by him.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult -- so very good, I cried at the end.  HIGHLY recommended.

Finished "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini this weekend.  Written by a 15-yr-old home schooled kid, it was actually pretty good.... although he was obviously influenced by the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Harry Potter series.  It's being released as a movie in December (here's the trailer), so you know this little guy isn't going to have to work a ( Read more... )

Finished another book last night -- The Smoke Jumper by Nicholas Evans.  It was pretty good, but predictable... and it was almost two books in one (started in Montana, travelled to Africa, then quickly ended back in Montana).  I'm not convinced a man can or should be writing about love from a woman's point of view, but he did an OK job.  I think ( Read more... )

Finished "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger last night.... oh my god, it was SO good!!  I highly recommend it for all the sappy romantics out there.  it started out as sort of a comedic romance, but as the story went on, it started to get a little dark and tragic... by the end, i was totally in tears.  (it ended well... ah, timeless ( Read more... )
