I had an awesome weekend. 
It was my birthday, and we went to the North Newton Beer Festival down where Raun's parents live. 
fatkraken was talked into doing a yard of ale, only not liking beer she did a yard of cider.  The cider was pretty strong, so she ended up merrily sloshed, but to her credit she drank it all without spilling any and without barfing ( Read more... )

Well, I've had the lurgy I can only describe as lung-shoggoths for ten days now, and I'm sick of it.  I don't tend to get ill too protectedly, but this one's really sticking about.  It has got better, in that I'm not in any pain and I can talk normally, but I've still got an annoying cough which interferes with sleep and work.  I also get out of ( Read more... )

kiebeau brandished a loaf of Morrisons' Savers brand bread at me the other day, and commanded me to go forth and feed the ducks.  The industrial estate I work on is infested with wildlife - I've seen swans, kestrels, ducks, herons, red deer, fallow deer and even a weasel.  The whole place is pleasantly landscaped, with a mixture of original woods, planted ( Read more... )

A few weeks ago I posted this disturbing poster.  At the time, I assumed it was caused by the threat of a lawsuit, but when I visited that canteen again today, I revised my opinion to 'someone in work is really bored and has a weird sense of humour.'  This is because disturbing scalding lady had been joined by some friends.

As they didn't put it up, I forgot about it.
Today, a colleague pointed it out in the company magazine.*
