Just changed my browser to Google Chrome as I've been having issues with the internet. Last two months my ISP usage went thru the sky. It's also been slow. Not having the mental energy to fight with it anymore, Firefox has been ditched. Hoping this will allow me to stay signed in and able to comment on friends posts. 

2 years, 11 months and 15 days ago I purchased a new laptop. MacBook Pro - well the insurance company bought it as the power surge that killed the last mac laptop was covered by my homeowners insurance. I now have, a new laptop,high speed internet and an Ebook reader. Lots to do before I have things set up. Still need files setting up on my lovely new MacBook Pro. Device that I tried a few years ago for high speed here in the hinterlands, now works. I'm looking forward to watching videos, downloading stuff and generally enjoying more of the

After more than 30 years of nursing, I have finally been squicked by a situation. Woman - who looks 70+ but is just a year older than me at 58, diet appears to be beer and cigs. I will be out of touch for the next week? Using desktop, laptop finally gave up the ghost- motherboard was fried in power surge during June tornado. I've been nursing it along til stuff was done. Gratitude- day 4- My beloved mac that lets me do lots of things without knowing much about computers.

Collapsed on sofa in front of AC. Summer is here. Work has been mega busy. I did 20 hours of overtime last week. Bills will be paid- but I am toast after all that. Age has made itself known. Can't do that stuff anymore- at least not for long. Idiots are still in charge. No surprise there.

A bit of light- DNS issues may be the problem with LJ and my laptop. It crashed shortly after the big storm. Not a nasty windows type crash. Just a polite dark grey rectangle on the screen advising me that I must restart the computer. I'm afraid that there might have been a surge.
