Procrastinator - saved by APPLE

2 years, 11 months and 15 days ago I purchased a new laptop. MacBook Pro - well the insurance company bought it as the power surge that killed the last mac laptop was covered by my homeowners insurance. Great investment if you can get it - covers it if you drop it or it's stolen etc.
At the time, I paid out of my own pocket, or so I thought, for a three year Apple Care package. It's been a good choice in the past, and it gave me extra peace of mind.
As there have been no issues, I just put the receipt away. A few weeks ago, the bluetooth feature vanished. This am, I called Apple for help, only to discover that the Apple Care I paid for was not. It was the retailers own buyer protection plan, Future Shop which is owned by Best Buy was the culprit. I called them and asked what was the meaning of this fraudulent deception? The manager assured me that there was no benefit to them and they don't sell AppleCare. So why did the salesman lie to me? They have agreed to refund my money.
I then called Apple back and in a very short time, they verified what had happened and sold me a new Apple Care plan - which will last 15 days for the full price. I'd rather use the refund money to pay for what I originally wanted and get proper Apple service on my laptop.
As there is a hardware issue, this is well worth doing, it they can't repair it, they will replace it.
So, Friday am, I will be taking dear laptop in for repair, dropping by Future Shop to get my refund and doing a few other errands.
Many people knock Apple. I've had nothing but brilliant service, computers that don't require me to understand how to program, and don't need constant repair and removal of viruses since 1989.
