I've had a bad few days with migraine due to the nasty weather. It was very cold today, all the trees are covered in ice. Up early on my day off courtesy of dear Brambling. I wouldn't be so grumpy if I hadn't stepped on a soft brown mess as I ventured to the door before the sun rose. Wish I could convince her to sleep in!  For some months she's had a problem with her spine. Sometimes her back legs give out. The most unfortunate side effect is her bowel incontinence. Til today. At 9 am, it was not too hot to plant. Made a bit less mess than usual, but have one foot that is black. I'm never going to be Martha Stewart, doing stuff looking all neat and tidy. Not in a good way. I'm about to leave to work. Humidex - combination of heat and humidity reading is 95F/35C. Air conditioning in car decided to fail this weekend. Feeling a bit better today. Managed to do some odds and ends of things, washed fabric for SCA garb, packed for trip to Toronto, dogs have been brushed. House is still a tip, ditto car. For the first time in years, my car was stuck in a snow bank for an hour or so this am. Heavy snow on top of layer of ice is my excuse. One chap tried to help, but it wouldn't budge. Lots of white stuff here. Planned nursing visits moved. One was supposed to be an admit for IV antibiotics -tooth abscess . Delivery of supplies/pump/IV stuff was due at 3 pm. I was ready to go, but by 5:30 it still hadn't arrived. I advised client to go to ER/call 911, because I wasn't going to get stuck in a snow drift in the dark ( Read more... )

Is coming today and Tuesday. Appt in Toronto Tuesday of course. What to do? Trying to move appt to later in the week. Done- Thursday Friday.  This is the fifth day of freezing rain so far this year.
