I thought things would calm down, but instead there are a million little things that still need done. It's rather like being pecked to death by butterflies. Arranged and ran an art department sale Weds/Thurs, still have to turn in copies of my thesis with images to the department, final stuff for Print 1, etc etc.

I passed.  And I've been waiting three years to use that line.

It is with great, nay, Dionysiac pleasure that I post that everything's finally actually done. The mermaid has text, the frames are touched up with paint marker, the pedestals have a black cloth under the white one, the folio pages are trimmed down to fit the box better... I even have a colophon.

I finished hanging my section of the MFA show on Friday. For reasons unbeknownst to me, not everyone else is done yet. Two people haven't even started. Three that I know of are completely done, others may be by now. (There are ten people total in the show ( Read more... )

Today I showed my students how to do a hard-ground etch. This is a. the first intaglio I've done in almost two years b. the first zinc plate I've ever done and c. the first etch I've ever done in ferric acid.

It's been a little scary teaching them processes I'm rusty on, since I've been doing nothing but screen for over a year now.

A couple of days ago I got a call from a friend asking me if I had any books I could put in a show at Branigan Cultural Center, as they had a book show opening Friday and not enough entries. I grabbed what I had in the studio, and tonight had the pleasure of seeing my works and others on display.
