My first therapy session was very productive. My current position will end in November of 2014. I've sent my CV and a persuasive cover letter to my boss's two bosses and to their boss as well, although I knew there wasn't an opening for a scientist. Today I saw that there's an opening for a scientist. I'm applying. Not sure what my chances are, but I'm going to throw my all into it.

I've always been a bit of a stick in the mud when it comes to other people having fun.  So I try to take that into account when our upstairs neighbours are noisy, throw or drop their garbage onto our roof, or have a party until 3am.  Maybe, I think, they're not immature and obnoxious; maybe I'm just old and not any fun.  mr_pugh is even less flexible ( Read more... )

Relationship
For some time now ( I can't even recall how long it's been) things with mr_pugh have been awesome.  The emotional connection is intense, almost mystical and timeless.  Yet being together also been funny and friendly and joyful. As I learn to relax more successfully ( Read more... )

Yesterday I gave my notice at Bay St. Video. I'm re-vamping and updating my resume and website.  This is a big job that I do semi-annually and ought to do more often.  But I avoid it, because it entails sifting through all the stuff I've done over the past 6-12 months.  At times like this I think, Damn I keep busy!  

My computer stalled at startup for the second time, so I ran disc utility which found some problems but couldn't repair them.  It also wouldn't start in safe mode.  I was beginning to think it had turned into a PC.  I backed up everything onto my external drive, just in case.
