Another September, another birthday! This year, I apparently turned 43. Seems so weird. Nothing's really all that different. More than ever, it really is just another day on the calendar. In July, we had Scarlett's 15-month checkup and all is well. She remains in the 90th percentile for height and is simply growing like a weed. Her lightish-curly hair has taken over her head and she's more vocal than ever. No real words just yet, but she can answer simple questions and point out certain things. Scarlett is one year old! It's been such a fast year; it's hard to believe. She's walking quite well now and just about running. She waves at people and has really turned into a toddler. Scarlett is eleven months old and is getting tantalizingly close to her first birthday. It's just weeks away at this point. In March, I'll be taking off the final couple weeks of Paternity Leave that I still have remaining and I'll be taking a bit more PTO after that too, so I'll be out the majority of March. We didn't see the pediatrician at the three-month-mark but we did a week ago for the four month mark. Scarlett is just thriving. She's now fifteen pounds and 26.5 inches long, putting her in the 99th percentile for height supposedly. Nicole has made it to the 16-week mark! Her pregnancy is going well and after a four-week lull in appointments, the 16-week check-in went great. We appear to have a strong daughter who likes to be heard: During the check-in appointment, we heard the heartbeat just fine but we also heard moments of random static which the doctor said was her moving ( Read more... )

Well 2021 was kind of more of the same of 2020. Here's the summary:

January was our first real month in our new house where we weren't wall-to-wall renovating 24/7. In February, the weight of responsibility of the house got to us and caused despair. Things got better in March as rooms took shape including my very own home office.
