Matt Baumgartner posted about a friend he had, Garland English who passed away this past weekend, hiking in Hawaii. I met Garland. This is my comment I posted on Matt's blog:

My dish washer seems to have stopped working. Mainly, it doesn't seem to be getting hot anymore. It seems like something that might be fixable, but my question is, who is it appropriate to call (cue Ghostbuster's theme). A plumber? An appliance repair man? Anyone have a recommendation for someone local to use?

Ok, it is annoying enough to me that the woman on the other side of my cubicle wall plays the radio all day long. Dude, it's called HEADPHONES. The heat in my house stopping working yesterday. Boo. I have tried the several things that have worked to fix my furnace before (resetting the thermostats, flipping th circuit breakers, purging the water pipes of air, checking if the pilot light is on), so I'm concerned that there is a deeper issue that might end up costing me a lot. My iPod shuffle is not working. I wanted to replace everything on it with some other stuff. This was the first time I tried to sync the iPod with this computer since it had been re-imaged. So, it gave me a warning that iTunes needed to erase all the old stuff to sync the iPod on this computer, and I said that was fine. Everything seemed to go ( Read more... )

I took my kitties to the vet today and found out they have fleas! I didn't expect this since they are both indoor cats, but my guess is that Madison brought them with her, and probably got them from my sister's ex-boyfriend's dog. Madison has had scars that she scratches around her neck, and my vet said that she has a flea allergy that is causing ( Read more... )
