Broke down
Car broke down on the highway this morning. :-(
I was driving along, and all of a sudden the gas pedel stopped working. Pulled over. Tried to start the engine…would not turn over.
Called Allstate, they sent a tow truck. Two truck guy tries to turn on the car - car turns over just fine!
Got towed to his shop. Got picked up by a coworker. Hopefully it is something the shop can fix today. Then I can have someone drive me there after work. Otherwise I'll have Enterprise come pick me up at GE and I'll rent a car.
In good news, I think this is the first time my car broke down on the side of the road and I didn't end up crying. That's showing improvement!
Hopefully this doesn't end up eating up my tax return!
ETA: Car should be fixed today. Getting a new battery and they said the cam sensor broke, which is why the car stopped on the highway. Interestingly enough, THIS IS ONE OF THE PARTS THAT KADDO REPLACED ON MY CAR! The guy's at this shop said the sensor DOES NOT LOOK LIKE IT WAS REPLACED AT ALL! So, either Kaddo sold me another defective part OR they didn't do the replacement and told me they did. Either way they will get a call from me, and I'm never going back there again. Will defintely be posting on some online forums and possibly contacting the Better Business Bureau, depending on how they deal with my call today.
ETA again: Ok, I learned there are two cam shaft sensors, and it was the second one that failed...the shop said it did look like the other was replaced. Whew. So, at least I don't need to go smack a bitch at Kaddo's.
