I had yesterday off as a flex day. The plan was that I'd have sewn like the wind while I was dog sitting for a week, and then I'd have a day to finish up anything, make sure all accessories were together & do any ironing ( Read more... )

OK tonight I got 7m of a teal acetate taffeta to make the skirt, 1m of seagreen stretch lace for the sleeves and neck fill on the bodice and 1m of a polyester & rayon brocade. Not a stiff brocade either.  I'm not entirely crazy cos the woven pattern is ideal, but the colour is white & pale gold. I'm going to try a dye job and fingers crossed it'll ( Read more... )

FEBRUARY
Hoping to organiser a georgian picnic for early February.   At the end of the month is Armageddon Expo, so 2 costumes to wear at that. May be new, may be re-wears

Yesterday was a mix of highs & lows.  The high included getting a ticket to the Tron: Legacy preview which I very nearly didn't use. Thank you www.supanova.com.au for the giveaway.   Yesterday I was more tired from the late night read-a-thon than the day before when I was running on only 3 hours sleep.  Plus I still had done no actually sewing of  ( Read more... )

I got a black belt the right width - win

I need to mod the buckle - fail

 on the theory that pictures or it didn't happen - yesterday afternoon I dyed the fire engine red linen to a burgundy.  I'm miffed that my camera won't get the colours right.  I put a red linen parasol - same genuinely fire engine red - next to the transformed fabric. Forgot to keep a sample of the original colour.
