Work has been kind of slow, not that I'm complaining. After asking for additional projects and what not, I use my spare time completing this journal, filling in big gaps in my entries (i.e. 2009, the year when I did almost no blogging). Seattle is not one of the most snow-prepared towns, despite the fact that it is one of the northernmost major cities of the US*. The city refuses to salt the roads, because of its concern for the marine animals who might be affected by a sudden influx of salty, chemical groundwater. Elizabeth, my co-worker, said that you can get the worst sunburn ever during winter. It is scientifically proven. Because there's so much snow around you, the snow acts as one huge reflector and directs all the sun's rays towards you. Quite ironic that you can get burned in the coldest of climates.

I like geese. I saw two flocks fly away from an office building's garden earlier this evening. It was twilight I guess. At 5:18 pm. They didn't care about the cars, or the people in the cars on their way home from work. Or the smoke coming from the cars in which the people were.
