It was not hard to get back to the routine of going to work. It felt as if I never left. For the first couple of days, it seemed like nothing's changed much. Everything caught up eventually though. We in the chat team have a new supervisor, and she was moving us to a new location, closer to her and our new team. We moved a couple of days ago, to our new spot. We have a smaller cubicle now, and we are in a noisier and more crowded spot, which is kind of disappointing. However, I do have more drawers, and we are close to the window that faces the Sound and the Olympic Mountains beyond, so it's a very pretty spot, and we get as much sunlight as it is physically possible in Seattle.
Our new neighbors are also very interesting. We have a neighbor named Molly with the cutest voice: she sounds just like Kristen Schaal. Our new supervisor is also very nice. She fancies talking to herself at times when she is in deep thought, so it took some time to get used to it, but she is really very nice and approachable. She also sits next to me, so my ocassional non-work-related-website visits have been significantly reduced.
We have also started looking for a new apartment, which took up almost all of my spare time this week. There aren't a lot of apartments for rent this season, which is weird, but we did manage to find a couple of pretty decent neighborhoods. We did not fall in love with the top choice right now, but it's a pretty good neighborhood, pretty close to downtown (but farther away from work) and you get a really good view of both downtown Seattle and Lake Washington. It's in the Leschi neighborhood, which is named after Chief Leschi, leader of the Nisqually tribe. This was the site of their summer camping grounds.
M inconveniently showed up this weekend. I'm glad it isn't very awkward between us, and I am trying my best to keep it that way. Also, I have tried to make myself look as unattractive as possible in front of him. It helps a lot that my brother is with us all the time.
In related news, my two films will be shown in San Francisco next week. I am dropping by there (courtesy of Kady's buddy passes!) to go watch the film festival. I am booking a hotel so I won't have to stay with M, and also so that I'm closer to the venue.
