Started my internship and things are looking good. I've already come up with a lesson plan for at least 2 lessons on poetry and am going to look up shorter stories or some such that I can have the kids read to then review and discuss (feel free to tell me about stories you think would be suitably for kids in the 7th grade).

Started my internship at a school this week, and of course I get the flu now. I was had a fever Tuesday night so I couldn't go to the school then nor could I go today, but I'm going tomorrow. Feeling well enough for that, especially since it'll only be a couple of hours, but I'll have to call in sick for work. I don't think I'll be able to work.

Had my first lesson in my 'how to teach science'-course and it was fun and interesting. Which bodes well because I've got more of that coming. One part of the lesson involved something called 'Concept cartoons', which is basically a cartoon that shows a scientific idea in an everyday situations and offers alternative viewpoints as an explanation. I finally managed to finish my assignment yesterday afternoon and since my printer wasn't to fond of the idea of actually printing out the text, I had no other choice but to mail it to my teacher. Snow! Glorious white fluffy stuff falling from the heavens (sometimes almost horizontally due to winds)! It's been snowing all weekend and I rejoice - partly because I don't have to leave the house.
