The calm before the storm
I've been trying to study for the last two days, but I haven't been able to concentrate all that much. I keep coming up with other things to do instead, like checking my flist every five minutes or just not doing anything of value (and for some reason, I have yet to watch the latest ep of Leverage or Supernatural, despite having looked forward to them for ages now).
I've got another assignment/exam that's due on Monday morning, as well as an exam on Thursday. The one that's due Monday is a essay-like exam, and the course for it has been just crap. The course is about how to handle and help students with special needs - everything from blind students, students that have recently arrived in said country, or students with Asbergers, dyslexia or some such. It's an interesting course, it's just that we've had a couple of cancelled lectures and the seminars haven't been that great. I think we've had 5 scheduled seminars, I've missed perhaps 1, and 2 of the remaining seminars have been purely for presentations. Now we have an exam on a topic so diverse and we've barely have any idea what the hell we're going to do or write. It sucks majorly to be truthful.
The departments that focus mainly in all things pedagogical are badly organized and they don't seem to know what the hell they're doing. The scary part is that they've gotten better in the last two or three years. I don't even want to imagine how disorganized things were before I got here. Hopefully I'll pass my exams and be free for now from these courses. Then again, I've got a new course that starts on Monday. It'll be interesting to see how that one works out since we'll actually be assigned to a school where we'll have to stand in front of a class and be the teacher for a week or so.
Oh screw this, I'm gonna get me a cup of tea and watch Leverage. And if I manage to read another damn article, I'll reward myself by watching Supernatural. Who knows, might even get around to watching Dirty Jobs. The pint of Ben & Jerry I bought shall have to wait as a reward for when I'm done with both exams.
