(no subject)
Started my internship at a school this week, and of course I get the flu now. I was had a fever Tuesday night so I couldn't go to the school then nor could I go today, but I'm going tomorrow. Feeling well enough for that, especially since it'll only be a couple of hours, but I'll have to call in sick for work. I don't think I'll be able to work.
I might not have a fever now (which I highly suspect I did on Monday while I was at the school - because I had no appatite and was shivering despite my extra cardigan and my scarf), but I don't think I'll be able to take both going to the school and work. Might be able to work on Friday night, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Having the flu kinda sucks, especially since it's so important for me to be able to get some sort of grip on the lesson plans and whatnot, as well as figuring out which classes I'll have later on so I can start getting more info on where they are now in their respective subjects. Only thing is that while I'm studying to become a High School teacher, I've ended up in a Junior High School - and the English teacher for the 8th and 9th grade isn't taking any interns because it's his first year there (which I really understand and don't blame him for), but the problem is that the only thing left is to tag along with the only other English teacher who handles grades 5-7. This is a bit of a hassle because it's so far away from the level I'm going to be working with later on. Besides, a lot of the things I thought I could do just fly out the window because these kids aren't even close to the kind of ideas I had planned. They're still learning the basics and one of the reasons I was hoping of ending up in a High School was that I could expect the kids to know all the basics and I wouldn't have to go over it. >_> Pooey.
However, I have had time during these two days off to watch my shows, like NCIS and Leverage. Oh so much love for those two shows. There is just so much team love there. Both shows are so wonderful, brimming with team-y goodness and are just plain awesomeness. Seriously, I loved this weeks episodes! There was Boss!Tony, Teamplayer!Gibbs, Team-love and all that in NCIS, and then there was Leverage! I <3 Hardison, Parker and Eliot. They are just cracking and then there's Sofie and Nate! :D I was feeling like crap due to the flu, but then I watch those and I just felt lots better. Might have had a smile through it all, even! I love my shows. :D
