Going to the Ren Faire on saturday with Leah was a blast! My re-constructed dress looked awesome, and we had loads of fun getting our picture taken and being mistaken for staff. :-D

I've started on my new Tudor kirtle, and this time I'm doing it the difficult way, as described on the Tudor costume page, which is much easier than I thought it would be and looks great! I've decided to use the teal wool and brown linen I bought to make another Tudor kirtle and sleeves. I've been humming and hawing over whether or not the wool is a correct colour for the period, but I'd decided to go for it anyway. After I posted my last entry about my Tudor garb I started thinking about adding a Flemish over-gown. Flemish is very close to Tudor, the main difference being the over-gown. So I could use my purple kirtle, my partlet, sleeves, chemise, and straw hat. Then I'll I'd need to make is a new apron with those hangy-off edges and the over-gown. With this ( Read more... )
