Proof that I have been sewing!

Going to the Ren Faire on saturday with Leah was a blast! My re-constructed dress looked awesome, and we had loads of fun getting our picture taken and being mistaken for staff. :-D

No way! A suit of armour!

Trying to get sprayed by the fountain!

I've just travelled here from the year 1520!

Contemplating the mysteries of life.

From the back. Leah is quite a bit taller than me, so we had to layer my teal kirtle up with a plain black skirt of hers.

Artistically/annoyingly backlit.

You can see a bit of the strap from my 20s bra poking out here. Since my bodice wasn't boned or stiffened in any way, I wore my bandeau for extra support and to get the right flattened out shape. It worked great!

A scandalous flash of ankle! I loved doing the proper Italian pose and gathering up my huge skirt to drap it over my arm when I walked.

From the back. The different coloured ribbons on my sleeves is due to the very practival reason of me not having enough of the blue. :-D I'm sure 16thc Italians also ran out of ribbon mid-dress.

Stocking!

OMG another armour guy!

Leah chillin' by the railing. Sir Henry Pellet would be proud.

The same falconer was there as last year, but this time he had a FLIPPING GORGEOUS OWL.
BEHOLD

Owls always look so sarcastic.
