Had my follow up meeting at PSU this morning, though it wasn't quite as planned. I was supposed to meet with the Director, and she got called into meetings all day so that didn't happen. Had a good job interview at one of the grad schools at PSU Friday morning. It's a longterm temp gig, and not a done deal, so I'm not doing a dance of joy just yet, but I'm feeling good about it. Just verbally accepted an offer for the job I interviewed for on Wednesday, data management and research support work with Portland State University's fundraising office. They're running a background check, and I should start mid next week.

Last time I got laid off, I went two months applying with nary a bite.

This weekend I get a no from my first round of interviews and decide to have some hairdye-related fun with the whole office-free lifestyle. And what happens? The very next business day someone calls up and wants to interview me. ( Fun hair that will not make it to Friday. )

Had my belated follow-up interview this morning. I like the sound and feel of the job better this time around. Maybe because they loosened up a little, maybe because they brought in a couple of the younger people for this interview, maybe because I didn't have a fever and sinuses full of concrete... hard to say, but it was a fun environment this ( Read more... )
