Mid-February Updates - mostly not-crappy!

Feb 19, 2013 19:24

- Linda got home from the hospital Monday morning. It is good to have her back. Not just because it means I'm no longer the primary caregiver. But also that a lot.

- I got an Oregon drivers license. Well, I gave them money and got the paper temp, still waiting for the real thing to arrive in the mail. But it's a thing, I'm an Oregon driver and voter now. Feels pretty good.

- Never heard back from the people I interviewed with, which is sad. Still finding lots of interesting things to apply to, though.

- Had lunch with one of me best friends from first grade and one of my best friends from hippie middle school, who are married and live in Portland and totally look the same even though I haven't seen either of them in over a decade. I'm pleased to discover they are still nerdy. We're gonna have a boardgame night soon.

- We have had a spell of beautiful weather, so I have been spending almost all of my alone time outside. Enjoying a lot of bikeriding and reading outside cafes. (Portland is not going to pass up an opportunity for outdoor seating just because it is February. Love it.) That looks to be coming to an end, so I'll probably start writing here again.

starting over, family, documenting, jobsearch, portland, change is good, driving
