Just verbally accepted an offer for the job I interviewed for on Wednesday, data management and research support work with Portland State University's fundraising office. They're running a background check, and I should start mid next week.
It's part time and temporary (bringing me up to three part time jobs) but it's at PSU, which has been kind of my first choice employer, and it sounds like there is a lot of potential for it to expand and solidify if it's a good fit. Even if this particular position doesn't work out that way, I think there are some big upsides to getting into their system. I'll be able to apply for their internal listings and be able to put PSU experience on my resume, which is something all their postings indicate they really prefer.
Also, in news I don't totally know what to do with, I woke up at 8 this morning to a phonecall from a recruiter and now I also have an interview with Intel early next week. The job sounded cool and it was before the other thing confirmed and I was only a little bit awake so I just kind of agreed to things. I think that probably I don't want to commute to Hillsboro and I'm really excited about working with PSU, but I will probably keep the interview and see what that's all about.
It's all still a work in progress, but we're calling this good developments!
