Signs of life on the employment horizon

Had a good job interview at one of the grad schools at PSU Friday morning. It's a longterm temp gig, and not a done deal, so I'm not doing a dance of joy just yet, but I'm feeling good about it. It seemed like a healthy place, I liked the people I met and they seemed to like their jobs. Going back to meet the Director on Monday, but they already asked how I'd feel about starting Tuesday or Wednesday, so I'm pretty optimistic.

Pretty much not working at the bar anymore. I didn't quit, but I have stopped going to the irregularly-scheduled last-minute staff meetings and calling to see if I'm working, and they have stopped calling me for backup at random times. A little sad, because I liked the work and tips were nice, but that place was super dysfunctional. When doing kitchen dishes by hand at 3am is not the crappy part of your restaurant job... yeah, something is not right. Oh well. It's work I'd do again somewhere else.

starting over, work, jobsearch, portland, change is good
