We lost our oldest-lived president yesterday. Jimmy Carter made it to 100 years old; that's impressive no matter who you are. Heck, he beat Betty White, who taught us not to make a big deal about turning that age when she conveniently died just short of the mark. I missed taking my weekend walk due to everything going on recently, so I decided I'd get it in before band. The park we play in is adjacent to a neighborhood, actually the historic district, so I decided to just wander about for a while until I got my allotted half hour in. We had an extended family member die recently. I think mom found out about it on Thursday or Friday. Mom got the service info from her cousin and talked with grandma about going to the funeral on Wednesday, but when we called grandma yesterday, they decided only to go to the wake on Tuesday. This has been a weird winter, where we had about two weeks of brutal weather and then it's been above normal.
