I haven't posted in almost two months. :( But here's a rant.

If someone comes to your door offering to give you a free carpet cleaning or show you a demonstration of a product with (they claim) no obligation to buy, BEWARE. I was at a friend's house the other day, and she let the guy in. More than two hours later, she was $2500 poorer.

Last month, I injured a hand while out sledding (ran over it with the sled). At its worst, you'd have thought a purple golf ball was atop my hand. Didn't really hurt, though, and it's fine now. Mostly because of the swelling, it kept me from knitting for about ten days ( Read more... )

A lot of people are making posts where they hope that 2013 is "another" great year. This is not one of those posts, mainly because 2012 was a horrible year for me and I don't want another one like it. So instead, I'll hope that 2013 is better than 2012. My grandmother died last night. She was 92 and had a slew of health problems, so it wasn't exactly a shock, but it still wasn't the news I wanted to hear. Apparently, she went very quickly and quietly. That's the good part about this whole thing ( Read more... )

Someone from the water company knocked on my door at 12:30 this afternoon to say they were shutting off the water on my street to do some work until possibly as late as 3:00. Fine; no big deal. I could easily get by without water for a few hours ( Read more... )

1. I put most of my dental bills on my new CareCredit card (thanks to stellastars and 51stcenturyfox for telling me about it), so now I have a year to pay off the balance. I also have my new crown in place, and it feels fine. The procedure to get it was not that bad at all, either.
