Grrrr...
Someone from the water company knocked on my door at 12:30 this afternoon to say they were shutting off the water on my street to do some work until possibly as late as 3:00. Fine; no big deal. I could easily get by without water for a few hours.
I turned on the kitchen faucet at 5, and the water came out jerkily, with a brown tinge as a bonus. At 10, I tried again with the same result. Also, the faucet in the main bathroom works fine, but the toilet in that same bathroom sounded like it had exploded when I flushed it, and the pipes in the basement are still gurgling... an hour later.
I ran the kitchen faucet for several minutes both times with no improvement and finally gave up. If I'm still having trouble in the morning, I'll have to call the water department. The water was fine before they screwed with things this afternoon.
