Would it be at all helpful to go to the police or FBI about the scammer, if your friend is at the point of sending him her house payment? Of course, she might just ignore them as much as she's ignoring you on this, too :/
I'm sorry about your computer and the feline lab work. Hope your computer holds out for a while longer, and that everything is okay with Jack.
I don't have any actual proof against the scammer, just what my friend has told me. And she lives hundreds of miles away from me. Since this case doesn't involve me directly, I'm assuming I don't have enough info. The FBI has an online form for reporting Internet crime, but it's set up so that the person who was victimized is the one who fills it out. My friend doesn't believe she's a victim yet despite how obvious it is to pretty much everyone else she knows. :(
Jack had slightly elevated liver enzymes when he was tested before the teeth cleaning. It might easily be due to the antibiotic I gave him in the days leading up to the cleaning, though. Or it could be normal for him.
Thanks for the link. I looked up a few similar scams that happened to people in Michigan (where my friend lives) and sent those links to her. Unfortunately, at this point I think something is mentally wrong with her. She's gone beyond the "really gullible" stage and into another realm entirely.
