Short review: THE HUNGER GAMES IS AWESOME. (Mostly.)

I'm going to start by saying what I didn't like--( the shaky cam. )

Name the top 5 movies of 2012 that you are looking forward to, whether they are in theaters already or not.

I can't complete this one, because there are only four movies that I care about.

1) THE HUNGER GAMES.

2) Brave.

I just got the three-disc set of Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl and the two-disc set of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest from erastes and rwday! I'm sitting here, watching the DvD commentary, and loving it. erastes, rwday--thank you SO much! This is brilliant!

My list of movies I cry at just lengthened to two: Casablanca and Return of the KingI spent half the night wiping away surreptitious tears during the second showing of RotK. Return of the King is NOT boring. Or confusing. Or depressing.

It's far better than The Two Towers. I'm not sure if it equals or surpasses Fellowship of the Ring. I have to think about that ( Read more... )

My LJ friends and I are not on the same wavelength. Everyone is talking about how much Return of the King made them cry. This is not something that a depressive looks for in a movie, believe me. Strike one against the movie right there ( Read more... )

HonorH had something in her LJ about how rumors about RotK were upsetting people, and how fans were being too quick to judge on the basis of rumor.

I don't think people are judging solely on the basis of rumor. My fears for the movie are partly based on rumor, and partly based on my own dislike of certain aspects of RotK.
