So I watched the first episode of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. It was good. Predictable as hell--we'll get to that--but it kept me entertained for an hour. The visuals were lovely. The story was 1000% better than the tedious lump that comprises Kindle's sample of the beginning of Cocaine Blues, the first book in the series.

I'm really beginning to feel that New Who and I are incompatible. If this were a relationship, I think we'd be breaking up.

I was expecting this episode to be okay--good but not great, since it involved Daleks. ( Spoilers lie beneath the cut. )

I just finished reading a YA book called Freak by Marcella Pixley. (I got a number of YA books out of the library today, because the teen room, unlike every other area containing fiction in the library, is on the first floor and therefore does not require an eternally broken elevator for access.)
