Yay! It turned out ok! Not perfect, but I can improve on the engineering if I significantly change shape and will be taking it apart. The back seam had a HUGE spread that pulled together slowly with each stitch. I used upholstery thread like I was spiral lacing a corset. The arms are very softly stuffed for maximum bendability. Finally, finally making my dressform/body-double look pretty. I bought a small size display mannequin and have been using it with towels padding out to my measurements, a papier-mâché mould of my shoulders, and a draft of the cover over top. It has been so nice to slip on flats and go for a walk with my dog. Today I stopped to take pictures and smell the blossoms on an apple tree we found. So lovely!

It feels good to be creating things again. I've been easing back in by tackling my UFOs, and using the stash to sew gifts for my nieces and nephew. Before leaving France, I bought one of my nieces a beautiful Corolle doll. She is the same size as the doll I have from my mom, so I have been making them coordinating clothes. I'm gearing up for a flurry of sewing new dresses for myself, which means a little time first spent on UFOs - sewing and crafty projects alike. And I am proud to say these were stash projects! ( PROOF! )

Since my son is off to boarding school, we decided to take his smaller bedroom for ourselves and make our old bedroom into a dedicated game/sewing/guest room. I made little curtains for our new room! my wig head! I needed to style a wig, so using items on-hand, I made a paper-mache head.
I weighted the base with rice, so it will stand on its own with the wig on it, but I held it between my knees for much of the styling. Worked great!!

On my new paper tape dress form, so I can get cut out and sit down! Fun for the whole family! 2 rolls of tape goes quickly when you are working with a crew. :)
