I can't explain how happy it made me feel to hear my son end an hours-long skype call with his best friend on the other side of N. America with, "I love you." I cried silent tears of joy that my 6'4" manly-man son of 23 years is comfortable with sharing affectionate feelings and that his brother-by-choice reciprocates. <3

How did I get so incredibly behind on reading LJ? Not to mention posting and everything else. This keeps happening lately whenever there is a hiccup in my schedule. Just a fly-by post, but I'm super excited because my 22 year old son is moving to Montreal! He moved away when he was only 17 and we've lived with an ocean or a continent between us ever since. He's enrolling in a technical program here and will live with us until he finds a job and apartment. He's excited, I'm excited, it's exciting! <3 <3

I admit that I'm more than a little jealous that so many of you on my F-list are crunching to prepare for Costume College. Well, not really jealous of your pain, more the anticipation of so much fun! My sister's husband has had his reserve-military service activated, so my sister will be on her own for the next twelve months with their three kids. Instead of CoCo, I'll be putting that time and money to visit her and help for a bit while the kids are out on summer vacation. It's been so long now since I've been to a CoCo... I've been lurking lately - my kids are visiting from the states and keeping me very busy. Today I bought them train tickets and sent them off to Disneyland so I could have half a day to hear myself think (and to hang out with hubby). I have finally had a productive spell. Nothing for myself yet, and not a lot of pictures, cuz guy stuff is a little boring to look at (unless it's ON the guy), but at least I have an update.
1. Princess dress for my niece's birthday. She wouldn't smile for the photo cuz she says, "Princesses don't smile." I guess she realizes it's a serious job!

I'm sewing a pink tulle and purple polyester satin princess dress for my niece's birthday! It's so far removed from what I usually sew, that I am getting a really big kick out of it. I can't wait to watch her open it on skype next month! About thirteen years ago I made something similar for my daughter's birthday... my how the time flies.

On my new paper tape dress form, so I can get cut out and sit down! Fun for the whole family! 2 rolls of tape goes quickly when you are working with a crew. :)
