October was the month of packing, November was for unpacking, so maybe December will be for creating again. /fingers crossed

Ugh. So tired. We have entered the world of international property ownership by buying a condo in our neighbourhood. Almost done hand-sewing my Regency day dress. I love the purple striped linen. It's been nice to work on a dress that doesnt require careful handling. It needs two buttons and loops for the apron front, loops for the ties, and a hem. That's all! It's not technically an UFO, but I bought the fabric with this dress in mind years ago. Yay! It turned out ok! Not perfect, but I can improve on the engineering if I significantly change shape and will be taking it apart. The back seam had a HUGE spread that pulled together slowly with each stitch. I used upholstery thread like I was spiral lacing a corset. The arms are very softly stuffed for maximum bendability. Finally, finally making my dressform/body-double look pretty. I bought a small size display mannequin and have been using it with towels padding out to my measurements, a papier-mâché mould of my shoulders, and a draft of the cover over top. I am now quite sure that this dress is going to CoCo with me next year. I'll glam it out 1960s style with a big bouffant and silver shoes! So relieved today to assure myself that it fits. Hubby's birthday is tomorrow and I've been working on a Kindle cover for him. It's not a surprise though because I wanted to embroider his logo on the cover and wanted to collaborate on that.
